Out of Game Questions

Here's where you can find information about Out-Of-Game questions. If you want to know something about in-game things, check out the World page above.

Do I have to be a member to participate?

Yes and no. You're welcome to post on any of the Out-Of-Game forums or message other members or whatever you'd like on the site. However, participating in events and roleplay on the forums does require an account and an accepted character in order to make it work.

How often does World of Inea LARp meet?

Roughly once a month. We take a couple of months off in the winter for weather and in the summer we'll sometimes have a small event and a bigger day event in the same months, but for the most part it's a once a month type deal.

What do I need for my first event?

First and foremost you'll want a character. Check out the "Creating a Character" page under "FAQ" above. Second, you'll want whatever gear you need for that particular event (like camping stuff if it's a weekender). Thirdly you'll want your costume and gear so you can show off what makes your character the way that they are. Finally, a positive attitude and a "Yes, and..." perspective are great!

Can I become part of staff?

Certainly! Go ahead and reach out to us with the "Contact Us" page and let us know. We work on a volunteer basis, so that is something to keep in mind, but if you feel like you have a skill set that would work well then feel free to let us know and we can see what we think.

How much does this all cost?

Depends on the event. Each will have their own ticket cost. In general, half-day events will cost $5, day events will cost $15 and weekenders will cost anywhere from $45 to $50.

Alternatively, if you know you're going to be attending most events, go ahead and take a look at our Season Passes on the store. These will let you pay in advance and give you a discount for all events, even ones that haven't been announced yet. You could also just pay for a Day Event Pass or a Weekender Event Pass if you think those will be the only things you'll be attending.

If you decide that you want to NPC rather than PC (play a part in the plot rather than play a character interacting with the plot) you get to attend for free! We also provide NPCs with food at day events.

How do I submit my character idea?

You can e-mail it in to plot.worldofinea@gmail.com. There's a downloadable Google Sheets file that also provides a character sheet to fill out if you would like to send that in at the same time.

How do I register as an NPC?

When you go to purchase a ticket for an event, one of the options will be an NPC ticket. Simply purchase one of those and we'll know you're on your way! If you want to be more than just a silent antagonist, you can also comment on the NPC register post on the forums for that event. This will let us get in contact with you about the various roles available and figure out which one works best for you.

Does temporary Health from different skills stack?

Yes! You can stack Bolster temporary Health with Protect temporary Health and visa versa. However, you can't stack them with themselves (ex. two sets of Bolster temporary Health would just register as 2 Temp Health.

Is there a limit to how many skills I can take?

The only limit is how many Skill Points you have to spend. You can use this skill points as soon as you get them: right after the event if you want. Just make sure that you send in your character build to staff every time so that we can keep track of what our players can do.
